Job Description
Beyond is looking for a Technical Writer to join our company. As our Technical Writer, you'll create high-quality technical documentation for both internal and external audiences. You'll also manage our document control processes, ensuring that all materials are accurate, up-to-date, and adhere to our high standards. Occasional travel is required to Calgary, Blackfalds and/or Nisku
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user manuals, technical guides, and process documentation for our proprietary hardware and software solutions in both electronic and hardcopy forms
- Collaborate with different teams to gather information and transform complex technical concepts into clear, concise content by meeting with and interviewing field staff, engineers, management and office and facility-based employees
- Implement and maintain document control processes, including version control and content management using SharePoint
- Create and update internal and external communication materials, including presentations and web content
- Continuously improve existing documentation and processes to ensure content remains current, relevant, and useful
- Ensure all documentation adheres to corporate style guides and best practices
- Manage the organization and maintenance of our electronic document management system
- Establish and maintain document files in accordance with records retention standards
Experience with technical communication tools, including:
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Expert skills with Word in a collaborative environment is desired
- Adobe Acrobat or equivalent
- CAD Software
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, college diploma with demonstrated writing and technical abilities, or equivalent education and related work experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology or engineering environment
- Proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail
- Experience with document control processes and systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Experience with Document Control and systems/software
