Position Summary
Under the direction of the Head Coach of the rowing team, the Technical Specialist – Assistant Coach will be expected to assist in the implementation of performance and development initiatives and other related functions that will help ensure the success of the rowing student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and distribute team equipment including boats, ores, etc.
- Prepare practice and training equipment ahead of start times
- Record activities and keep track of statistics during competitions and performances.
- Analyze data to help identify trends of race/team/student-athlete activity/competency during and after regattas. Prepares reports to present to head coach.
- Support coaching staff in the implementation of practice and race strategies.
- Assist with the delivery of the 2025 CURA's at the Olympic Basin.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks as required.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Rowing coaching experience/knowledge is a strong asset
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, evaluation and planning skills
- Strong desire and dedication to the development of the student athletes
- Willingness to accept flexible working hours which may included early mornings and/or weekends. This may depend on time of the season.
- CPR and First Aid certifications highly recommended
- Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level highly recommended
Selected candidates are expected to successfully pass their criminal background check
