Job Title: Network Support Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Network Support Engineer to support and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient network operations across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (particularly WatchGuard) and HP switches, combined with a solid foundation in general network support. This role requires a self-starter with excellent technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently, especially during on-site shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for network-related issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Support and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot WatchGuard firewalls (policies, VPNs, security profiles) and HP switches (VLANs, routing, access control).
- Assist in designing, scaling, and optimizing secure and resilient network solutions.
- Monitor network performance and perform regular health checks, tuning, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and related services.
- Participate in network design, implementation, and deployment projects.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and diagrams.
- Provide support for end users, including clear communication of technical solutions.
- Support network cabling and physical connectivity requirements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experienced in a network support or engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Firewalls (policy configuration, VPNs, security settings)
- HP switches (VLAN setup, routing, troubleshooting)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Computer networking concepts and security protocols
- Windows environments and operating system configuration
- Network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Experience with network design and implementation efforts.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, particularly during on-site shifts.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Network cabling experience.
- Must be a team player
Preferred / Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi security systems, switches, and access points.
- Experience with:
- Google Workspace (G Suite) and Microsoft 365
- SCADA systems and SQL databases
- Other enterprise firewalls and security systems
