The Group Home Supervisor will supervise the front-line staff in assisting Residents in all aspects of daily living in accordance with the individualized support care plan. Provide managerial guidance, support, advice and expertise to staff to ensure effective, efficient and Resident focused operations within assigned Departments/Programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain all documentation to ensure program meets MCSS, Quality Assurance Measures and any other legislative compliance.
- Provide and maintain staff scheduling, replacement procedures and annual performance evaluations, ensuring the terms of the Collective Agreement and Policies and Procedures are followed.
- Ensure PSW’s provide support to residents as per the job description and department procedures.
- When needed or requested by Management, provide direct support and services to clients in a prompt, courteous and respectful manner
- Provide the necessary support to ensure staff communicate effectively as per job description and department procedures which includes in-person shift transition meetings, other regularly scheduled staff meetings, 1:1 meetings, other forms of communication as required.
- Ensure PSW’s follow all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures as per PSW job description and department procedures
- Adhere to Participation House, Markham Health and Safety Policies and Procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
Skills and Abilities:
- Post secondary education in a related field.
- Minimum 1-year previous supervisory experience
- Experience in acute care setting, rehabilitation/restorative care, or long-term care setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills are critical, to exert influence, resolve conflicts and develop constructive working relationships and consensus.
- Valid First Aid/CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification..
- Current Vulnerable Police Clearance.
- A reliable vehicle is required to travel between locations as needed.
Hours of work: Scheduled workdays are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm (flexible). This position requires the Supervisor to be "emergency on-call" on a rotational basis for evenings, nights and weekends.
