Reporting to the Manager of Family Support Services, the Supervisor supports the daily operations of the FCSS Area while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to staff. This role plays a key part in enhancing Beaumont’s quality of life by developing and overseeing locally driven, preventative, educational, and social initiatives that promote the well-being of individuals, families, youth, and the broader community.

What YOU’RE Responsible for:
  • Lead, supervise, and support FCSS staff, ensuring programs and services meet the FCSS mandate, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Oversee contracts, budgets, program planning, and annual reviews in alignment with the Social Master Plan, in collaboration with municipal departments and community stakeholders.
  • Recruit, retain, and mentor staff, managing performance and identifying training needs to maintain professional standards.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with service providers, agencies, and community groups to enhance services and promote FCSS awareness.
  • Conduct research on trends and community needs to guide program development and delivery.
  • Manage administrative and reporting requirements, including provincial outcome reporting, financial submissions, and emergency social service planning.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and respectful workplace standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards.
  • Report unsafe conditions and near miss incidents promptly.
  • Attend regular safety meetings and promote a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What YOU Bring:
  • Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Psychology, Social Work (registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers is an asset), or related field.
  • 5 years' experience in direct supervision of social workers, RSW with a preference for experience in a municipal government setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and build partnerships.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including marginalized groups, immigrants, refugees, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

  • A salary range of $85,121.40 - $111,056.40 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
