As Supervisor, Family Community Support Services, you’ll lead programs and partnerships that make a real difference in the lives of Beaumont’s individuals, families, and youth? Reporting to the Manager of Family Support Services, the Supervisor supports the daily operations of the FCSS Area while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to staff. This role plays a key part in enhancing Beaumont’s quality of life by developing and overseeing locally driven, preventative, educational, and social initiatives that promote the well-being of individuals, families, youth, and the broader community.
What YOU’RE Responsible for:
- Lead, supervise, and support FCSS staff, ensuring programs and services meet the FCSS mandate, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Oversee contracts, budgets, program planning, and annual reviews in alignment with the Social Master Plan, in collaboration with municipal departments and community stakeholders.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor staff, managing performance and identifying training needs to maintain professional standards.
- Build and strengthen relationships with service providers, agencies, and community groups to enhance services and promote FCSS awareness.
- Conduct research on trends and community needs to guide program development and delivery.
- Manage administrative and reporting requirements, including provincial outcome reporting, financial submissions, and emergency social service planning.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and respectful workplace standards.
- Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards.
- Report unsafe conditions and near miss incidents promptly.
- Attend regular safety meetings and promote a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Psychology, Social Work (registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers is an asset), or related field.
- 5 years' experience in direct supervision of social workers, RSW with a preference for experience in a municipal government setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and build partnerships.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including marginalized groups, immigrants, refugees, and individuals with disabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Equivalencies may be considered.
- Must be registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
- A salary range of $85,121.40 - $111,056.40 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
