NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION
- Reporting to the Production Manager, the primary responsibility of the Supervisor is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all production functions, including injection components, product assembly, and packaging through the supervision, guidance and direction of personnel.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITY
- Production responsibilities as follows:
- Setup of Injection machines and approval of first off samples.
- Organize shift start, order set-up, schedule preparation and end of shift.
- Ensure all production documentation has been reviewed and verified by the responsible personnel.
- Conduct in-process verification according to appropriate SOPs.
- Record all production on appropriate forms and enter in MRP.
- Monitor and address Material Returns.
- Verify inventory and lot numbers for production on AS400.
- Assist in use of handheld scanners during palletization of finished goods.
- Take immediate corrective action on non-conformances as appropriate and complete investigation portion of NC in timely manner.
- Report high waste areas immediately to the Production Manager.
- Complete maintenance request forms in an expedient manner.
- Ensure Assembly personnel are scheduled on different jobs and appropriate rotations take place.
- Ensure personnel conduct activities according to the Quality System and SOPs.
- Supervision of personnel as follows:
- Direct personnel in a fair, consistent and non-discriminatory manner.
- Ensure direct reports record all details of the work completed on the work order.
- Correct and motivate personnel, including indirect reports as required, who do not follow directions, policies or procedures.
- Conduct interviews, evaluate performance, complete time cards, and approve requests for vacation, leaves of absence, etc.
- Ensure all direct reports are fully trained on the task that they are doing, how to operate any equipment and that they fully understand the requirements of that task.
- General responsibilities as follows:
- Ensure the cleanliness, sanitation and safety of all areas under their authority is maintained.
- Follow all company safety rules, policies, procedures, ISO guidelines, and SOPs in own work and in directing personnel.
- Report all unsafe activities, procedures, or conditions to a manager, Health & Safety Representative and/or Human Resources.
- Act on or respond to reported unsafe activities, procedures, or conditions.
- Ensure injured employees receive appropriate first aid and applicable forms and notifications occur.
- Work with others to promote and achieve the objectives of the company in an atmosphere of co-operation and teamwork.
- Any other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent with Post-Secondary education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience assembling and packaging sterile and non-sterile products in an ISO environment.
- Minimum One (3) years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing sector.
- Must have the skills and knowledge to keep all lines of communication open within both production and management levels.
- Can manage own deadlines to ensure daily and weekly task requirements are completed while carrying a busy workload.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Mathematical abilities required for completing calculations to close batch cards.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be proficient in written & spoken English.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Operating knowledge of personal computer including Outlook and Excel and ability to learn new computer programs with a minimum 30 WPM keyboarding skills.
- Operating knowledge of other office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY
- It is estimated that the majority of the time will on the Production floor, in the Environmentally Controlled Rooms (ECRs) and office.
- Other time will be spent in the warehouse.
- A hairnet shall be worn at all times in the Production, Assembly, and Warehouse areas.
- Safety devices such as glasses, earplugs and safety shoes must be worn where required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The physical requirements are standing, walking, climbing, and sitting, with 70% of working hours spent on the Production floor and ECR environment. This position also requires the ability to reach, grasp, bend and flex arms, legs, wrists and fingers.
- Due to the responsibilities of checking and verifying components before production, the Supervisor must lift some bins full of components that average 5 – 10 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
Shift Timing - 6:30 am - 3pm
Annual Salary - 48K -65K
