Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Plant Services Superintendent is accountable for the success of the Sanitation program within the facility.
Key Accountabilities: • Oversee Sanitation Supervisors in achieving their individual goals. • Oversee sanitation and coordinate with Pre-Op to ensure facility and equipment are in sanitary condition and be ready for next day start up. • Ensure Sanitation program KPIs met by team and communicated across plant. • Provide coaching on best practices for Sanitation and Pre-op teams, Supervisors. • Communicate with external contractors to manage required staffing. • Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act. • Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures. • Manage plant laundering and garment requirements through external contractor. • Maintain chemical stores, ordering and equipment requirements. • Manage SDS binders throughout facility, update as needed. • Collaborate with Engineering in early equipment design to ensure the AMI sanitary design principles and good practices are adhered to • Conduct investigations independently or collaborate with QA in sanitation and food safety non-compliances incidents • Provide backup support to other Superintendents
Qualifications & Experience: • 5-7 years leadership experience in a business/manufacturing environment. • Strong understanding of change management tools and methodologies. • Experience in labor management, cost control, equipment upkeep, and process optimization. • Excellent leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills. • Strong verbal and written communication abilities. • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive improvements. • Experience in GMP, HACCP, BRC, pest control and building management • Flexible and ability to work off hours when required.
