This position is guaranteed but not limited to 30 hours per week.
This position is subject to lay off and reduced hours as per the CUPE 917 collective agreement.
Under general supervision, receives, sorts, stores, redistributes and accounts for food, supplies and equipment within the Food Services Department.
- Previous training and experience in food handling, stores control and storage procedures. Organizational ability.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping practices, and the operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Ability to learn routines related to food service shipping and receiving, working accurately with figures, keep routine records, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, standing and walking for long periods of time, repetitive lifting, carrying heavy objects.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Valid B.C. driver's licence.
- Must be willing and able to work in locations as assigned and on shifts, including weekends, as required.
