Job Title: Stock Handler Forklift Operator
Department: Distribution Centre
Shifts: Days: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Job Location: Duha Color Services Winnipeg (750 Bradford St. Winnipeg, MB)
Reporting To: Department Manager
General Job Description:
The Stock Handler Forklift Operator reports directly to the Distribution Centre Manager in the Distribution Centre Department and is responsible for efficiently managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. Your primary duties will include receiving, sorting, and distributing stock, as well as maintaining accurate order and inventory records. Attention to detail is required to ensure order and inventory accuracy. A strong understanding of the importance of safety and adhering to the company policies is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely move and store stock with the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment. This will include restacking stock onto skids or loading stock onto shelves.
- Pull and organize stock for both internal and external customers in a timely and organized fashion.
- Inspect goods for quality and immediately report any defects or discrepancies.
- Conduct regular counts and audits to ensure the accuracy of the inventory and to help reconcile any inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure that every skid is properly secured, identified, and safely stored in the correct location.
- Assist in keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Various other tasks, as assigned by the Distribution Centre Manager and or Lead Hand.
Job Qualification and Requirements:
- Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain
- Positive work ethic/attitude and excellent attendance
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- The ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift 30-50lbs on an ongoing basis.
Education/Training/Experience:
- High School diploma or grade 12 G.E.D.
- 1+ years’ work experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate or similar position is an asset.
- Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) is an asset.
- Knowledge of quality and safety
