Summary:
We are looking for a CASLPO Reg. Speech-Language Pathologist to provide assessment and therapy services in our clinic in Oakville, as well as in-home, virtually, and/or in schools and daycares.
Description:
We are looking for an energetic and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team! We are a proudly neurodiversity-affirming organization who specializes in child-led, play-based therapy and we are looking to hire like-minded individuals. New graduates encouraged to apply.
The selected SLP will create and implement individualized treatment plans. The majority of our patients are children, though there is a potential for working with adults as well. Populations served include those with Autism Spectrum Differences*, articulation and motor speech disorders, stuttering, language delays, literacy delays, social communication difficulties, and other speech or language delays/disorders. The selected candidate will work in our Oakville clinic space at least 2 days per week, and in-home or in-school for the remaining time. A schedule will be agreed upon collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement treatment plans for assigned patients
- Prepare activities and materials accordingly, including forms of Augmentative and Alternative Communication
- Coach parents to learn and implement strategies that support their child’s development
- Maintain clinical records in SOAP format that meet CASLPO standards
- Build and maintain a schedule, confirm appointments with clients, invoicing, and other administrative tasks as deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- Active CASLPO licence
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Strong collaboration and time management skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and desire to engage in continuing education practices
- Bilingual applicants considered an asset
- Ability to build rapport with clients and their families, as well as coworkers. Company culture is important!
- Note: If you are graduating from a Master's SLP program in the next 6 months, please select Master's as your highest level of education. Similarly, if you are applying and expect to receive a licence within the next 6 months, please select that you are licensed and provide that information elsewhere in your application.
Pay/position structure:
- Part-time to full-time position as your caseload is built
- Contract position to start, with potential for full-time employment with paid vacation and sick days
- Flexibility in building the specific hours of your schedule
