Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Nelco Mechanical Limited. The ideal candidate will oversee large and small sheet metal projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication and installation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for sheet metal projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Schedule and oversee project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of sheet metal fabricators and installers.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on project needs.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Quality Control
- Ensure all sheet metal work meets industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments.
- Address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
Budget Management
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and submit budget reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project updates, changes, and milestones to clients effectively.
- Address client concerns and feedback in a timely manner.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed on-site.
- Promote a culture of safety among team members.
Qualifications
- Skilled Trades Ontario certification as a Sheet Metal Worker.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the sheet metal and construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation processes.
- Proficient in project management and office software and tools.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
