As a Shawarma Maker specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine at Basha Bites, you will be a key player in preparing our renowned shawarmas, wraps, and other hot and cold Middle Eastern dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and Middle Eastern dishes, with a primary focus on traditional shawarmas wraps/plates, falafel and other items.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as shawarma grills/rotisseries, griddles, and fryers.
- Chop and prepare fresh ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and garnishes.
- Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all food items.
- Handle raw and cooked food products safely and adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and food prep areas.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and efficient manner, taking orders accurately and providing recommendations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a sandwich maker, cook, or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment, with a strong emphasis on Middle Eastern cuisine (shawarma experience required).
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
