Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the F&B Supervisor, Server 1 is responsible for providing gracious level of food & beverage service to guests to support guest satisfaction. Help maintain smooth and efficient operation of all sections of the gaming floor and related guest services through effective time management. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service;
- Takes food & beverage orders from guests in a timely manner and correctly according to order given.
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
- Prepares and serves beverages as per guest requests;
- Serves food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely manner;
- Makes food & beverage recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy;
- Maintains cleanliness by clearing empty dishes & glassware on the gaming floor and related service areas in a timely manner;
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
- Be knowledgeable with the current food and beverage programs, and other restaurant functions and services in the premise;
- Answers inquiries from guests in a friendly and professional manner. Informs guests of food & beverage specials;
- Become proficient with the procedure manual, computer system technology currently in use in the restaurant, and the administration system in the restaurant
- Be knowledgeable with the current food & beverage programs, incentives and customer concerns by regularly liaising with the Food & Beverage Manager and Supervisors.
- Monitors guests’ alcohol consumption and reports impairment/intoxication to the Food & Beverage Supervisor/Manager immediately;
- Ensure all NBLGC, casino and other provincial mandated laws, policies and procedures are stringently always adhered to
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent working experience;
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a server or beverage host working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to successfully complete NB Responsible Beverage Certification,
- Ability to follow instructions & work independently is required
- Good organizational and time management skills is required
- Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) knowledge is an asset
- Wine and beverage knowledge an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) an asset
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be 19 years of age or older
Work Environment Considerations
- Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables;
- This role requires extended period of standing, walking, bending and may lift up to 35 lbs.
- The role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to business needs, and will have non-traditional work hours including holidays, evening, overnight or weekend shifts.
