Reporting to the Director, EHG, the Senior Practice Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing research and financial analysis and evaluation support to Osler’s national Emerging and High Growth Companies Group, and its clients.
Please note, the successful candidate can reside in Vancouver, Toronto, or the surrounding areas. We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Major Responsibilities
- Practice analysis and financial modeling
- Work alongside the Business Analytics team and Client Billing Services teams on creation of reports on billing and collection activity as well as overall financial performance of the practice group
- Work collaboratively with the firm’s Business Analytics and Pricing Management teams to analyze project staffing for various legal projects including financing and M&A transactions to enable future budgeting and increased financial performance
- Involvement in the M&A and venture capital financing transactions at various stages, assisting the legal professionals in creating and maintaining capitalization tables and liquidation waterfalls
- Work collaboratively with the firm’s Business Analytics team and Pricing Management teams to assist with national transactional analysis projects
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
This position requires a university degree, preferably in commerce or finance, plus a minimum three years of relevant experience. An applicant working towards a finance related certification is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable

- Proficient in MS Office and PowerPoint, and advanced proficiency in Excel
