To drive continued success in this exciting clinical research field, we are seeking committed, skilled, and customer-focused individuals to join our winning team as a Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist for our Toronto/Markham, Ontario, Canada on-site location. This is a hybrid office and home-based position.
Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist:
The Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist will process requests for new contracts with clients and sponsors (SOWs, change orders, amendments, etc.) for Everest Proposals and Project Management teams and contribute as a member of the Project Finance and Legal teams as needed on other matters, projects, initiatives, etc.
The Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist will be responsible for evaluating contract agreements, developing budgets, negotiating terms with clients and customers, and resolving contract disputes.
The Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist will collaborate with the Legal team, Business Development, Proposals, and Project Management teams to determine accurate and appropriate information and terms and conditions to be included in the client contracts.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Ensure successful negotiation and on-going management of work orders and change orders with clients.
- Develop and update contract, scope, and payment language in work orders and change orders.
- Develop and finalize full-service or single/multi-service clinical trial services delivery budget amendments in collaboration with functional leads and Project Managers to reflect client requested scope, ensuring unit and effort coverage.
- Collaborate with sponsors, internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and study teams to ensure successful contract execution.
- Appraise contracts for completeness and accuracy and ensure adherence to cost guidelines, corrects documents, ensure proper formatting, spelling, and professional presentation of the contract language.
- Appraise budget templates for completeness and accuracy ensuring adequate effort coverage and participate in budget templates development and improvements.
- Forecast and track work order and change order negotiation timelines and ensure targets or milestones are achievable and met.
- May participate in client meetings to review contract language, negotiation issues and to expedite the contract approval and signing process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-7 years of contracts and budgeting experience (Data and/or Health Science industry is a plus)
- Flexibility to accommodate US EST business hours if needed.
- Strong comprehension of contract terminology and general contracting “know how”
- Resourceful with proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and work well without close supervision or micro-management.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity with ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English language
- A team player.
