The Senior Business Solutions Consultant is a key role within the Strategic Solutions team at Sovereign. This role would support different business areas throughout the life cycle of an improvement – opportunity identification, development & deployment of the improvement, sustaining the improvement and monitoring success.
This multi-skilled role will be critical in achieving the objective through their combination of skills & experience in leading solutioning of business problems, effective project delivery and utilizing change management concepts. Actively contributing as part of a project team, you will identify, own and implement initiatives that solve department level and cross functional business problems through sustained benefits realization. As a self-starter with solid influencing and facilitation skills, you will be able to quickly develop relationships across the organization and contribute to our collaborative work environment.
How you will create impact:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide leadership in the delivery and execution of all phases of assigned projects from initiation to closure, managing timelines, budget, and scope for multiple concurrent projects
- Lead end to end projects /business diagnostics to identify people, process, metric and technology improvement opportunities to meet Sovereign’s strategic goals and solve business problems. Use structured approaches like design thinking, customer journey mapping or lean six sigma to find solutions
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis using structured approaches to support business case development and benefit realization
- Collaborate with multiple departments, engage all level of the employee to design recommendations with solution options that maximize value for the entire value stream. Facilitate working sessions for but not limited to process mapping, problem solving and waste identification.
- Identify metrics to measure & sustain results. Define & implement KPIs/scorecards using VOC, data collection plans, process capability studies, and implementation plans.
- Support transition of projects into business-as-usual sustainment & continuous improvement train, coach, and support leaders and staff on applying lean management practices to sustain improvements

To join our team:
- University Degree in business, or a related discipline.
- 7 + years of experience leading complex projects, solving business problems or working in a management consulting firm while using a combination of skills including but not limited to process improvement, business optimization, project management, .change management , financial acumen and strategic thinking
- Project Management certification (PMP). is required Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent and PROSCI certification is an asset.
- Working knowledge of finance, accounting and strategic planning are considered an asset
- Expert at applying lean six sigma approach or other techniques to solve business problems to provide comprehensive solutions covering people, process, metrics. Familiarity with lean management systems
- Expert at applying at applying project management techniques, tools and methodologies to ensure benefits are attained on time and within budget.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical and critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to effectively assess stakeholder impacts, influence and manage expectations at all levels of the organization in a matrix environment. is required. Experience influencing leaders to adopt new ways of working & positive change
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Visio, MS Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
