Summary
Our security organization is currently accepting applications for the role of Security Guard. TThis includes morning, evening, night, weekdays, weekend, and holiday shifts. The successful candidate must be available on short notice and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Position Type: Casual / On-Call (with the possibility of more consistent hours based on performance and site needs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security
- Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity
- Manage vehicle entry and record truck weights and documentation
- Ensure the worksite remains clean and orderly
- Provide safe and courteous assistance to visitors and staff
- Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, or security breaches
- Maintain effective communication with site supervisors and management
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid and current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Possess or will obtain CSA approved safety shoes prior to day #1
- Minimum 6 months of previous security experience, preferably in an industrial or logistics environment
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., using emails, incident reporting software, Microsoft Word/Excel)
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 2–3 hours at a time)
- High level of situational awareness and attention to detail
- Professional attitude and strong customer service skills
