JOB SUMMARY
We are currently hiring a Sanitation Supervisor – Afternoon Shift who will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager. The Sanitation Supervisor will have superior attention to detail, strong communication skills, be a team player, assertive and engaging. Responsible for the strict adherence to the master sanitation schedule company standards, Canada GAP, and regulatory requirements, the Sanitation Supervisor will ensure the safe and effective sanitation of all areas within the production facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision
- Responsible for the supervision of the Sanitation Team, ensuring that workers are working safely and performing effective sanitation of all areas in accordance with the master sanitation schedule.
- Responsible for approving weekly timecards and time off requests.
- Responsible for completing midyear and final performance appraisals.
- Responsible for conducting coaching sessions and if required following the progressive discipline process.
- May be required to provide support to the area manager and, where applicable, act in a managerial role in the absence of the manager.
- Other supervisory duties as required.
Sanitation
- Execute and lead sanitation activities as determined by the master sanitation schedule.
- Update and maintain the master sanitation schedule.
- Maintain daily sanitation records in conjunction with production team.
- Control and coordinate all sanitation supplies, ordering on time and maintaining inventory at the agreed upon levels.
- Communicate with QA Technicians regarding pre-operational findings
- Execute daily ATP swabbing as part of the verification of sanitation effectiveness.
- Implementation of corrective actions for non-conforming sanitation tasks
- Build strong relationships with maintenance to ensure sanitation requirements after service is completed.
- Follow and enforce all health and safety practices during sanitation at all times. Execute Lockout/Tagout as required.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of machine malfunctions.
- Draft, maintain, and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Plan and prioritize additional sanitation tasks that fall outside the scope of the master sanitation schedule.
- Contribute to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards.
Audits and Reporting
- Support and participate in annual food safety audits.
- Responsible for sanitation related corrective actions from internal and external audits.
- Observe and report ATP swabbing results, providing recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
Training and Development
- Develop, train, and support all sanitation employees in areas such as job-related tasks, health and safety associated with the role including proper chemical handling, lockout tag out procedures, PPE use, etc.
- Other duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years’ experience in a Sanitation Supervisor position for a food manufacturer.
- 3+ years knowledge of food safety programs, GMP programs, and Quality Systems.
- 3+ years of food industry, food safety sanitation experience.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 5:00 pm to 2:00 am (schedule may be adjusted depending on departmental needs).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
