Roof Inspector

Pinchin is seeking staff with knowledge of roofing systems to join our Building Science team in one of our Alberta (Edmonton or Calgary) locations.

As a Roofing Inspector you will conduct thorough examinations of roofing systems to assess their condition, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with building regulations. Updates and issues with projects and/or clients are escalated to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager, as required.

In this position you will participate in business development initiatives and will be required to perform field work when necessary. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary functions and responsibilities of the Roofing Inspector include the following:

A Day in the life of a Building Science Technologist at Pinchin:

  • Inspect various types of roofing systems to determine the state of the roof
  • Identify any defects, damage, or potential problems
  • Prepare and present detailed inspection reports
  • Recommend necessary repairs or replacement
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and work performed
  • Provide clients with estimates for repairs or replacements
  • Communicate with clients about inspection findings and answer any question
  • Assistance with other tasks on related projects as assigned

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

  • Apprentice or Accepted Alberta Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) inspector (not required, but considered an asset)
  • Registered Roof Observer (RRO) (not required, but considered an asset)
  • Knowledgeable in roofing / Roofing Specifications
  • Good writing skills
  • Able to climb and set up ladders in varying heights
  • Ability to safely transport and carry 20-foot extension or folding ladder, hand tools and PPE is required.
  • Availability to travel and must have a valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle required (work related travel expenses will be compensated).
