About the Program
We are launching a youth VEX IQ Robotics Program to inspire students through hands-on STEM learning. The program is focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and preparing students for success in VEX IQ competitions.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Robotics Coach (VEX IQ) to mentor students as they design, build, and program robots. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about youth development, experienced with VEX IQ, and excited to guide teams through both practice and competition.
Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor students in VEX IQ design, building, and programming
- Introduce and guide students in VEXcode IQ (blocks and text coding)
- Lead practices, develop lesson plans, and prepare teams for competition
- Encourage collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
- Support students at local and regional VEX IQ competitions
- Maintain robotics kits, tools, and practice fields
Qualifications
- Experience with VEX IQ Robotics (design/build/programming)
- Knowledge of VEXcode IQ
- Previous experience coaching, teaching, or mentoring youth (asset)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule to coach after-school/weekends and attend competitions
- Must be able to pass a background check
