The Opportunity:
Medcan is currently recruiting for an Rheumatologist to provide rheumatology consultations with diversified skills to complement our various high-performing and fast-growing teams of 90+ physicians within our three flagship programs - Annual Health Assessment (in-depth full day preventative health screening assessment), Year-Round Care (urgent care), and Dedicated Care (rostered Family Practice).
What You'll Do:
Provide Rheumatology consultations for Medcan patients
Based on a history and physical examination provide guidance and endocrinological recommendations
Evaluate the patient’s health, make diagnoses on clinical conditions, prescribe, and administer medications, treatments and follow up care with internal or external specialists through expedited referral/same day test results
Educate, advise, and empower patients on primary and secondary preventive health care
Provide counseling and support to patients on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
Participate in Medcan business initiatives including continuing medical education, innovation, research, product development, support, and guidance
The Requirements:
Commit to working at Medcan for a minimum of 1 day per month
Begin to take on patients at a manageable pace after onboarding and orientation
Current registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
An active OHIP billing number
Rheumatology fellowship recognized by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
Experience in preventive care and wellness is an asset
Ability to respectfully and tactfully interact and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds in a collegial, empathetic manner
