The Position
We currently have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Multi-Family Resident Building Manager with eye for detail to join our team. This is a full-time, live-in, salaried position. Reporting directly to the Senior Property Manager, the Resident Building Manager will focus primarily on the day-to-day operations of the building to ensure an excellent living experience for our tenants.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess high customer service standards, and is a results-oriented team player who can –
· Interact with tenants, the Senior Property Manager, and General Manager of Operations to discuss the building operation and address concerns and issues.
· Conduct daily inspections of common building areas and identify any required maintenance, including mechanical, security, garbage/recycling, landscaping, etc.
· Manage tenant and visitor parking and oversee building security systems.
· Ensure the building and common areas are cleaned and maintained.
· Perform building and suite maintenance repairs and coordinate contractors/trades to perform more extensive maintenance work and emergency repairs.
· Scheduling and supervising tenant move in/move out activities, perform regular suite inspections, maintain records of suite repairs, coordinate and carry out work on suite turnovers, and ensuring vacant suites are ready for new tenants.
· Collecting and depositing rents and security deposits.
· Can meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., ability to lift 50 pounds, snow removal, etc.).
· Work well with people and possess excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, especially considering the multi-family property is a high-stress and fast paced building.
· Prioritize tasks, interact with trades, handle conflicts and exercise sound judgement using their strong organization, planning, and diplomacy skills.
· Can work flexible hours Mondays to Fridays and be on-call for emergencies as may be required.
· Systems experience is a plus: Microsoft Office 365, Yardi, and intermediate knowledge of smart phone and computers.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3 years of building management & maintenance experience.
· Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems, especially plumbing systems, drywalling and ceramics removal and installation.
· Critical thinking skills and the ability to reallocate resources based on changing priorities and as emergencies arise.
· Knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act.
· Experience working in a multi-family residential apartment building.
· Asbestos Certification Level 2, or a willingness to obtain.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
