About the position
The Technician will inspect, test, maintain, repair, manufacture and modify equipment in a safe and timely manner following department quality control standards. The Technician will also provide technical support to staff and customers and collectively build MBSE as the supplier of choice. Regular business hours, typically weekdays 8:00am until 5:00pm, located at 67 Browns Line, Etobicoke ON.
How you’ll contribute:
Operational Tasks
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair equipment (including software upgrades)
- Ensure high-quality equipment is returned to inventory promptly
- Manufacture parts and manage shipping/receiving of rentals with accuracy and care
Inventory and Loss and Damage coordination
- Maintain records in MBS systems and handle updates, repairs, and billing
- Track and resolve Lost & Damaged equipment issues
- Recommend updates to procedures and documentation
- Identify parts/supply needs and suggest purchases
- Stay current with tech trends and advise on new equipment adoption
- Provide training and technical support to staff/customers
Compliance & Safety
- Follow safety protocols and legislative requirements (e.g., CSA)
- Ensure all activities prioritize safety and regulatory standards
What you’ll need to succeed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Lighting and Engineering: Has basic working knowledge of electronic, electrical and lighting equipment; certification is desirable
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to access and resolve basic equipment problems
- Ability to solve routine issues following outlined procedures
- Ability to multi task and adapt to changes in work load
- Good working knowledge and use of hand tools, and/or test equipment
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and support cross-functionally
- Embrace feedback and actively seek learning opportunities
Education & Experience
- Completion of Technical/College Diploma or equivalent practical experience
- On-set experience an asset
- Basic computer skills are an asset
- Experience with Safety Guidelines and WHMIS
