About the Role
The Township is seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Recreation Program Instructor to join our team at the brand-new Simcoe Woods Community Centre. In this front-line role, you’ll lead a variety of recreational activities for participants of all ages including children, youth, adults, and seniors. Programming may include before and after school programming, day camp, sports, crafts, drop-in gym sessions, and social activities that promote engagement, connection, and healthy lifestyles for all generations.
What You Bring
While prior experience in recreation or sport programming is beneficial, the true focus of this role is your ability to create dynamic, inclusive, and community-oriented learning experiences. You’ll lead age-appropriate programs that encourage physical activity, spark creativity, and promote self-expression for participants of all ages. Your excellent communication skills will foster meaningful connections with families and ensure a safe, welcoming environment. CPR and First Aid certification, along with a Police Vulnerable Sector Check, are required. Flexibility is important, as shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on program demands.
What We Offer
These part-time positions are scheduled based on community programming demand and provide an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking adaptable hours and a chance to be part of a responsive, community-driven environment. Compensation is based on an hourly rate which ranges from $20-$30/hr., commensurate with experience and qualifications.
