Dr. Gagliardi's Optometric Clinic is looking to hire a friendly and outgoing Receptionist/ Sales Associate that is very personable with patients. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a Sales role. Dr. Gagliardi is dedicated to improving the vision care of the community by providing some of the finest and latest eyewear technology and services. Key Responsibilities
- Must be available for Saturdays and some evening hrs.
- Scheduling patient and doctor appointments and receiving telephone calls.
- Confirm booking for patients and follow-up telephone calls to “no-show” patients
- Patient encounters: greeting, validating health cards, obtaining demographic information
- Perform clerical duties, such as filing and sorting and distributing mail
- Greeting people and direct them to contacts or service areas
- Demonstrate conflict management skills, focusing on patient/customer service at all times
- Receive and process payments from patients and complete daily cash balances/reconciliation, petty cash, debit & credit card transactions and invoicing patients
- Available to work one evening & Saturdays
- Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
- Check/respond to emails in a timely manner
- Maintain all administrative duties to effectively operate reception desk
- Prolonged hours of sitting
- Prepare for mail or courier all items submitted by scheduled pickup times
Qualifications
- Community college diploma or certificate in Business Administration/Medical Secretarial Arts.
- 1-3 years of work experience in healthcare
- Italian is an asset
- Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone
- Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to achieve desired results

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
