Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Receiving Lead to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will reflect Christ in his/her behavior, have strong relational & leadership qualities & effectively manage the donations. You would understand the needs & wants of a thrift store donor/customer & motivate staff & volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service & maintain high standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Receiving department operates efficiently.
- Provide a positive, efficient & safe working environment for the staff & volunteers.
- Manage incoming donations from all donors in a friendly, courteous & professional manner.
- Ensure donated items are sorted by department & meet store criteria & quality standards.
- Manage the pickup of card board, metal, electronic, & clothing recycling.
- Assist with store opening & closing duties.
- Train new employees/volunteers on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, & operation.
- Provide assistance to the different departments in the warehouse as required.
- Be an active member of the in-house Safety Committee, attend meetings, ensure the building & equipment is safety compliant.
Qualifications
- Experience with Receiving & Warehouse Management including supervising & working with staff & volunteers is preferred.
- First Aid Certification
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, & lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Alberta driver's license & abstract suitable to insurance coverage on company owned vehicles.
