As a RCA, you will report directly to the Director of Care. This is a nightshift position, but candidates must be available to work all shifts. Schedules will be provided.
This position is responsible for but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer medication and treatments in accordance to care plans, policies, and procedures.
· Monitor vital signs and assist with blood pressure monitoring
· Notifies the Director Of Care/Assistant Director of Care of any resident and/or family concerns.
· Attends and actively participates in daily communication meetings.
· Provides feedback in the assessment of every resident and participates in the development and updating of resident care plans.
· Answers Sara Alert’s (call bell system)
· Observe and report any changes in residents’ condition (physical, emotional, etc) promptly.
· Complete documentation on care as per the residence policies and guidelines.
· Deals courteously with staff, residents, resident families, and visitors.
· Helps residents maintain independence, and promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident.
· Strives to understand and respond to each resident with empathy, always remaining mindful of the resident’s unique communication patterns, history, and basic human needs.
· Assists with resident admissions and discharges when required.
· Assists and attends to residents’ special needs and activities of daily living (ADL’L) as required; i.e porting, ADLs
· Maintains the retirement community in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
· Completes all required mandatory training/education.
· Complies with all policies, procedures, and standard acts.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications: WE WILL TRAIN YOU!
· Complete a pharmacy course by Medi-System that we will set up for you.
· Experience in LTC or retirement living will be given preference.
· Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
· Must be able to operate related equipment.
