Position summary
Reporting to the Quotation Manager, the Quotation Specialist will be responsible to promptly and effectively support all quotations or contracts in a timely manner and monitor the process to ensure successful outcomes. They must be able to build and maintain solid relationships with internal and external customers including various departments. They must be proactive by elevating any concerns that may arise and propose solutions to resolve them. The Quotation Specialist should always act with the outmost professionalism that must reflect in the quality of their work.
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
- Establish solid business relationships with the customers by providing professional, complete, and quality answers to their request in a timely fashion. As well as, providing support on the following points:
- Reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints.
- Cross references with equivalent or alternatives.
- Review bill of material and select the proper items to quote on projects/proposals.
- Work with Spec Team / Representative to ensure we are approved or accepted as an alternative where needed.
- Providing delivery information at quotation stage if requested and propose alternative products to meet customer expectations.
- Working in conjunction with Sales Representatives and/or Regional Sales Manager to ensure proper distributor strategy and pricing are applied based on market reality and territory.
- Follow up on open and/or outstanding projects with sales representatives and customers to determine status (with the use of ZJOB) with the goal of winning the project.
- Maintain a high level of communication with customers, quotes team and other departments on missed opportunities, pricing & market trends.
- Keeping records of customer interactions and transactions in SAP/LOGS.
- Advising proper channels of the market trends, competition as well as the UTQ (unable to quote) information as they occur.
- Work in conjunction with Inside Sales team and other departments.
- Any other related tasks may be required to support the team to maintain high customer service levels.

- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- College diploma in business administration, sales or in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of the complete MS Office suite, as well as strong computer skills is mandatory.
- IES certification (an asset).
- Knowledge of lighting (an asset).
- Knowledge of SAP (an asset).
