QUALITY INSPECTOR – DAY SHIFT – FULL TIME
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing in-process inspections to ensure all parts being produced meet customer and aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace inspection, with the ability to perform first-off checks, random in-process audits, plating/thickness verifications, and support First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation. A sharp eye for detail, strong technical skills, and familiarity with AS9100 standards are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform first-off inspections to verify setups and confirm conformance before production continues.
- Conduct random in-process checks on the shop floor to ensure ongoing compliance with specifications.
- Inspect part dimensions after processing to confirm plating/coating thicknesses meet requirements.
- Record and organize inspection results to support FAI reporting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Accurately measure product dimensions using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, etc.).
- Identify and reject nonconforming products and communicate findings to production teams.
- Collaborate with machinists and supervisors to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
- Assist in driving continuous improvement in inspection practices and production quality.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace machining environment.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of precision measuring instruments.
- Good math, analytical, and technical skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and remain detail-oriented under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a team-player mindset.
