The Central Precast, a leading manufacturer of precast concrete products and a dealer of landscaping and masonry products in Eastern Ontario, servicing commercial, industrial and residential clients is currently looking for a full-time permanent Quality Control Technician.

Overview:
The primary responsibilities of this QC Technician include effective Quality Control ensuring successful delivery of product inspections and testing to achieve desired schedule/standards, while meeting reporting and process control requirements.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with current company quality standards and regulations.
- Ensure supplier documentation has been received and is in good order when required.
- Ensure all product tests are up to date by scheduling and performing tests.
- Monitor and evaluate all activities, processes, and procedures.
- Identify and analyze quality issues and identify/implement solutions.
- Develop internal auditing tools and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulations, when required.
- Check quality documents and test results to optimize audit preparation.
- Development of company policies, processes, and procedures regarding quality.
- Identify/analyze arising issues to find solutions and develop methods to be used in the future to prevent them from arising again.
- Collaborate with department managers and staff to identify and reach quality benchmarks, when required.
- Work with Project Coordinators to meet quality requirements for customers.
- Provide support for new projects and coordinate/collaborate with the production teams and personnel to troubleshoot compliance issues.
- Relay testing results to production and engineering when issues arise, when required.
- Prepare and maintain quality management documentation.
- Analyze data, create reports, and communicate feedback.
- Communicate relevant information to appropriate departments.
- Participate and guide project quality control from start to finish.
- Organize relevant project information for specific customer jobs and analyze feedback for future improvements.
- Key contributor to continuous improvement teams and directs quality programs to reduce non-conformance.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Education Required:
Minimum post-secondary education as a civil engineering technologist or equivalent experience
Years of experience:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of progressive experience within an industrial plant production environment or equivalent role.
- Experience within the construction or related industry is an asset.
Specific Experience:
- Must have excellent communication skills, written, verbal and computer (MS Office), as well as experience with engineering blueprint reading and dimensioning.
- Collaborative style with proven negotiation and influencing skills.
- Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment and out in the elements.
- Able to climb ladders and move around operating machinery in a safe manner.
- Concrete testing certification from CCIL or ACI preferred but not required.
- Must have experience with proper use of inspection, measuring and test equipment, including and understanding of proper procedure and calibration.
- Proven understanding of quality assurance, ideally with concrete products or related industry standards
