The Quality Control Calibration Specialist ensures all measurement and test equipment used in the manufacturing process is calibrated, maintained, and functioning within specified tolerances. They create customer success by delivering the best experiences to their internal and external customers
- Plan and perform first piece inspection of parts in any stage of the production process as assigned including CNH1 parts.
- Conduct layout/ISIR of a wide variety of parts to support troubleshooting of production parts, support builds and product launches using appropriate measuring tools. Escalates bottlenecks and roadblocks for completion of ISIRs and Layouts for timely resolution. Timely updates of ISIR/Layout results in IMC.
- Escalate ISIR/Layout failed results to proper supervision and leadership involved.
- Work with the QA Technician assigned for Purchased Parts ISIR’s, QE’s, ME’s, and Production for measuring parts based on requests and resolution of any issues that may arise during the process.
- Follow procedure for non-conforming parts and proper tagging/identification of passed and failed parts coming from the Lab.
- Perform root cause analysis of any failures due to measurement issues.
- Manage the gauge database for all measuring equipment and standards in the plant, while keeping it up to date. Conduct periodic calibration of gauges and measuring equipment as assigned.
- Maintain the laboratory and measuring equipment and timely disposal of measured parts outside of QA Lab.
- Schedule annual or periodic calibrations for any measuring equipment and standards that need to be calibrated outside of the plant.
- Arrange for shipments, repairs, calibrations, and returns of gauges, measuring equipment, and standards to minimize downtime for the plant. Identifying gauge or equipment that requires service or replacement and advising management. Keep all records, certificates, manuals, and contracts.
- As the need arises, trains new inspectors on how to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
- Keep track of spare measuring equipment.
- Work with ME/QE once required new measuring equipment or gauge for current or future needs has been identified and finalized by ME or QE based on programs and business plans.
- Help research and understand measurement equipment purchases alternatives.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Metrology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
- 1+ years of calibration or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally related to agricultural, automotive, or heavy machinery industries.
- Proficiency in using and calibrating a wide range of mechanical and electronic measurement instruments.
- Experience in GD & T, CMM, Romer Arms, Laser, to perform ISIR inspections and in-depth knowledge of PCDMIS programming.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
