The First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority (Northern Authority) is responsible for administering and providing for the delivery of child and family services (CFS) to twenty-seven First Nation communities through seven mandated First Nations CFS agencies.
Responsibilities:
The QA Coordinator coordinate with the planning and development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Quality Assurance framework for the Northern Authority. The coordinator assist in developing the overall parameters for the Quality Assurance Program, including policy considerations, program design, resource requirements, implementation plans, communication strategies as well as a monitoring function.
The QA Coordinator support and works with the mandated agencies to ensure that program delivery is consistent with the goals and objectives of the Northern Authority and adheres to the legislation, regulations and provincial standards.
Qualifications:
· MSW or BSW with 5+ years experience within a child welfare environment. A related post secondary degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
· Knowledge of legislation, policies and standards in a post AJI-CWI environment, and demonstrated experience in policy and program development.
· Knowledge and understanding of the Child and Family Services Act and Regulations.
· Extensive knowledge and understanding of current issues related to CFS, preferably from a northern Manitoba First Nations perspective.
· Knowledge of, and ability to apply, culturally relevant approaches to the development of policies, programs, and services for children, families and communities.
· Must be a collaborative, flexible team player who is challenged by working in a fast-paced environment.
· Superior problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written & verbal) are essential.
· Ability to speak Cree, Dene and/or Oji-Cree is a definite asset.
Conditions of Employment:
· Provide a satisfactory criminal records check, child abuse registry check and prior contact check prior to commencing employment.
· Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.
· Travel to northern Manitoba communities will be required.
