Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist in the rehabilitation of patients with various physical conditions. Your contributions will be essential in helping patients regain mobility, strength, and overall functionality in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within skilled nursing facilities, acute care settings, and outpatient clinics.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques.
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care.
- Familiarity with physiotherapy practices and the ability to implement effective care plans.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities or home health environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes and outpatient rehabilitation protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
