This is a full-time, 18-month TERM position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The opportunity:
The Yukon Government is preparing to respond to the findings of the Independent Review Board on the Eagle Gold Mine heap leach failure and begin implementation of their recommendations. This work will include working collaboratively and effectively across Yukon government and with other governments and stakeholders.
Working as a member of a larger team, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of this work to ensure Yukon government can effectively and efficiently implement these recommendations. This work will include the management of contracts, coordination of multi-party working groups, project management tasks related to information, schedule and task management, and other tasks necessary to ensure successful implementation.

Essential Qualifications

- Degree in natural resource management, project management, public administration, environmental science or related field;
- Experience working as part of a team and with other governments, boards/committees, special interest groups and the public;
- Experience managing large projects, including scheduling and coordination of work programs, task management and action tracking ;
- Experience with record keeping, note taking, preparing summary documents and presentation materials
- Procurement and contract management experience, preferably in a government setting;
- Experience with assessment and licensing practices for mining in Yukon and of mine development, operation and closure practices will be considered an asset.
