Job Summary
Looking for a positive, engaging team player to help make a difference for children with, or suspected of having, learning disabilities, in a full-time permanent capacity.
Duties
- tutor elementary aged students and prepare individualized lesson plans
- write reports
- recruit, screen, orientate, supervise volunteers
- present about learning disabilities to secondary school classrooms
- facilitate a small group program for elementary aged children
- promote and represent the association at awareness/fundraising events
Skills
- relevant post-secondary education
- excellent written and spoken communication
- academic, organizational and computer skills
- comfortable working with children, families and volunteers
- an understanding of LD and ADHD
- sign and abide by an oath of confidentiality
- produce a satisfactory police clearance
- driver’s license – reliable transportation
- current CPR and First Aid training is recommended
- fluency in French is an asset
Work Location: In person Monday-Thursday, optional work from home Fridays
