This role is responsible to support the operational efficiencies and improvement for the assets leveraging Lean principles. This role will support the Process Engineer, Stores and ES Technician to monitor consumption of direct, indirect materials and supplies for the assets.
Lean Manufacturing Certification: A minimum of a Lean Manufacturing Blue Belt is required for this role, with the expectation to progress toward achieving a Yellow or Green Belt certification.
POKA Super User/Subject Matter Expert (SME): This role will serve as a Super User and SME for POKA. Responsibilities include supporting, updating, and refreshing work instructions related to asset operations within the POKA platform.
EHSS Action Team Participation: Active involvement in the EHSS Action Team is required, either as a lead, co-lead, or team participant.
Shift Flexibility: The role requires working assigned shifts as determined by the Asset Leader.
In this role, you will:
Active Participant in the daily Tier meetings, and Staff Asset meetings
Co-ordinate Pit Stops as required with engineers, maintenance teams as required
Active participant in Asset Down Schedules, supporting process check outs and other assigned tasks as required, participate in post completion review of the planned shutdowns to track performance and execution.
Support and Co-ordinate in collaboration with Shift Crew Leaders reviews of production, including POKA activities such as change notifications, POKA Factory Feed, Follow ups, and Improvements
Support Housekeeping Standard Work, in collaboration with Shift Crew Leaders, Operations and Maintenance team.
Work with Process Engineer to optimize centerline systems to drive consistent asset performance
Monitor consumption of operating supplies and materials (indirect, direct), working alongside internal teams for supply and delivery
Support Trials with Process Engineers and Staff team as required
Trained to read Blade Wears in support of the Process Engineer as an assist/backup
Maintain, update, refresh Poka Work Instructions working with the T4E, Crew Leaders, Operations, Engineer, Maintenance and EHSS team members
Other Duties as assigned by Asset Leader

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent, Technical Certification
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing
Must have advanced computer skills to work in various digital, software platforms; Microsoft Suite of Products, POKA, ERP/SAP, Pims and other software/platforms as applicable to the asset
Must have strong interpersonal skills
Must have strong written skills
Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset
Lean Manufacturing Experience, minimum of a Blue Belt
Industrial environment (noise, dust, moving equipment, fluctuating temperatures etc.) May include prolonged periods of standing, along with bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs, heights and confined spaces. PPE Requirements will include safety shoes, hearing protection and other appropriate PPE as designated.
Travel up to <5% of the work time may also include business travels via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various mill locations
Shift work will be required as assigned by Asset Leader in support of the Operations Team, and Asset.
Ability to work 6:30am-2:30pm and ability to flex to business needs.

Starting Hourly Wage: $33.99 CAD
