Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Vice President Loan Portfolio & Systems Administration, the Portfolio Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing Prosperity Credit Union financial performance, enhancing internal reporting, and ensuring risk and compliance processes are effectively managed. This role collaborates closely with credit analysts, system vendors, and internal departments to lead reporting initiatives, support credit systems, and contribute to strong portfolio oversight across the organization. This role is eligible to work from any Prosperity Service location, with Nipawin identified as a key location for internal planning considerations.
- Financial Analysis & Risk Monitoring: Analyze monthly financial statements to identify performance trends, areas of risk, and growth opportunities. Support credit decision-making through data-driven insights and risk evaluations.
- Risk Rating & Compliance Oversight: Conduct NAIC risk code reviews to ensure consistent and accurate classification. Maintain annual credit reviews and support compliance tracking for documentation and policies.
- Systems Administration & Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary representative for Prosperity Credit Union on the Valeyo platform, managing system upgrades, testing and issue resolution. Lead credit system projects and coordinate rollout, training, and user feedback collection.
- Policy & Process Management: Collaborate with management to maintain and update internal policies, lending procedures, and credit documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and operational best practices.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in business, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience financial regulatory reporting and credit risk rating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and dashboard creation.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, systems, and stakeholder relationships.
