Job Title: PMO Practice Manager
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid • 4 days/week onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Contract Type: T4/IC
Pay Rate: $75.86/Hour
Role Mandate:
- As a PMO Practice Manager, you will serve as a leader within the PMO, responsible for driving project delivery excellence, shaping project management standards and practices, and advising on PMO related initiatives.
- This role combines deep portfolio management expertise with practice leadership, and governance responsibilities to elevate the maturity and impact of the PMO across the organization.
- The team will provide guidance on the processes, governance, tools, resourcing, and practices including compliance and audits for commercial banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Elevate project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies to drive consistency, quality, and operational excellence across the PMO.
- Ensure program and project governance, compliance activities, and audit readiness are aligned and completed successfully
- Advance the integration of process improvements and feedback mechanisms to strengthen PMO effectiveness and meet evolving enterprise needs.
- Lead the design, delivery, and continuous evolution of PMO training, onboarding, and learning programs to elevate project management capabilities.
Practice Management & Capability Building
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of PMO methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Consult and work with project managers and teams to ensure alignment with best practices and business outcomes.
- Execute team evaluation processes to identify capability gaps and implement targeted improvements.
- Champion a culture of accountability, learning, and delivery excellence across the PMO.
Organizational Influence & Governance
- Influence and negotiate with cross-functional stakeholders to align project practice outcomes with strategic goals.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve PMO practice effectiveness and project governance.
- Serve on internal committees and task forces inside the Delivery team.
Thought Leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert on project management controls and practices.
- Develop an expert understanding of project management challenges and translate them into actionable project strategies.
Must Have Skills:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in project/program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or practice management role.
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with enterprise impact.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Lean).
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Extensive change management experience
Nice to Have Skills:
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Previous Financial Industry experience.
