Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings, and fixtures such as valves, pumps, and meters
- Join pipes using techniques such as soldering, brazing, welding, and mechanical fittings
- Test pipe systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other equipment
- Repair and maintain pipe systems by replacing or repairing defective parts
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes
- Experience with welding techniques for pipe joining is preferred
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and find solutions
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installation of pipes and fittings
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces
