JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position functions under the operational supervision of the Program Manager, the clinical supervision of the Physiotherapy Practice Leader and Grade 2 PT, and the work direction of a physiotherapist, to work as a team member with other multidisciplinary personnel and carries out established physiotherapy activities. Demonstrates and teaches techniques, adapts devices to enable clients to maximize potential for mobility and independence, provides functional direction to family/volunteers, reports relevant observations of resident’s condition in writing or by utilizing basic computer literacy to the physiotherapist, organizes and coordinates the portering of clients, and cleans and maintains designated equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
