Job Description – Personal Caregiver (Private Home)
Position Title: Personal Caregiver
Location: Peterborough, ON
Employment Type: Part-time (Private Home Care)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Twice per week, fluctuating weekdays, 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Compensation: As per agency rate
Key Responsibilities
- Administer suppository as instructed by the family
- Provide assistance during continence care, including clean-up after bowel movements
- Support with catheter care as needed (patient primarily self-manages; caregiver assists with required items)
- Follow family-provided training and care instructions
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, and respectful care environment
- Communicate any concerns regarding health or care to the family
Requirements
- Previous experience in personal care, home care, or caregiving roles (preferred)
- Comfort with providing intimate personal care
- Ability to follow patient- and family-directed care plans and instructions
- COVID-19 vaccination not required for this position
- No interview with family or HomecareHub required prior to assignment
