Pastry Assistant (Maternity Leave Coverage) position to start as soon as possible to ease the transition

Are you a morning person with a passion for pastry? We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Pastry Assistant to join our team while our lead baker is on maternity leave. This role is a great opportunity for someone with basic baking skills to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
What You'll Do
Bake off a variety of items daily for our cafe display cases.
Assist in prepping a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for both our restaurant and cafe.
Manage daily and weekly inventory for the cafe.
Maintain a clean and organized work station.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
Early Mornings are a must: You must be able to reliably start early in the morning to get the day's baking done.
Basic Baking Skills: You have a solid understanding of fundamental baking techniques.
Attention to Detail: You're meticulous and can follow recipes accurately.
Team Player: You work well with others and are willing to help wherever needed.
Reliable and Punctual: You understand the importance of being on time for your shift.
Able to Lift: You can lift up to 50 lbs.
