Position Summary:
Our growing technology consulting firm is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Remote Bookkeeper to support our team and clients from a remote location. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who excels at managing multiple client accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and communicating clearly in a virtual work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients using cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks)
- Record and categorize financial transactions (income, expenses, payroll, etc.)
- Manage time and expense reporting processes with cloud-based time system (Dovico), including forecasting and reconciling staff recording.
- Prepare monthly Utilization reports and annual Performance Appraisal reports for employees.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports to the firm’s accountants or directly to clients.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes including paying vendors.
- Manage staff vacation tracking time, policies and procedures.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns (e.g., HST/GST) and other compliance-related remittances.
- Communicate proactively with clients to collect missing information or clarify transactions.
- Liaison with Sister company accounting team Barrington Consulting Group
- Support our external accountant with year-end financial preparation and tax filing processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally with multiple clients
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Online Time Tracking system
- Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams)
- Strong understanding of Canadian Employment policies and procedures
- Ability to manage time independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Assets:
- Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation or equivalent
- Experience working for a consulting firm.
- Availability during standard business hours for occasional virtual meetings
Working Conditions:
- Remote position with flexible hours (approximately 15–20 hours per week, depending on workload)
- Must have access to a secure home office setup and reliable high-speed internet.
- Occasional virtual and in-person meetings with the team
