Job Overview
We are currently hiring a French and Math Tutor to join our team and support students from Grades 1 through 12. The ideal candidate will be confident teaching both French (Core French and/or French Immersion) and Mathematics, with a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum. Sessions are offered both in person at our Mississauga (Heartland) location and online.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in both French and Math for students in Grades 1–12
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with the Ontario curriculum for both subjects
- Assist students with daily homework, assignments, and test/exam preparation
- Break down complex concepts and language skills into clear, understandable steps
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and student levels
- Track and evaluate student progress, and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and student performance
Skills
- 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience in French and/or Mathematics (preferred)
- Fluency in French (spoken and written), with the ability to teach up to Grade 12
- Strong grasp of math concepts across elementary and high school levels (up to Calculus and Data Management)
- Familiarity with Ontario curriculum expectations for Grades 1–12
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with children and youth in educational settings
- Comfortable using digital tools for online tutoring sessions
- Passionate about education and dedicated to student success
