About Us: Summit Academy is a vibrant and inclusive private school dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for our students. We are currently seeking a responsible and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Driver and/or Fleet Manager.
Position Summary: This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values safety, and has strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of students between campuses (grade 6-9 students), and to and from school events (Junior Primary-grade 9 students). If applying as both a driver and fleet manager, the ideal candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the routine maintenance and management of the school’s small vehicle fleet.
Hours: The hours for this position are between 8:00am-9:30am and/or 2:30-4:00pm on Monday-Friday, with additional hours during the day for field trips, and during March Break and Summer Day Camps
Pay: $20-$26/hour depending on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Bus Driver Duties:
- Safely transport students between campuses, to and from field trips, and school-related events
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle
- Foster a positive and respectful environment for student passengers
Fleet Management Duties:
- Schedule and track regular maintenance and DOT inspections for all school vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle use, mileage, repairs, and servicing
- Coordinate with service providers for repairs and emergency maintenance
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
Fleet:
- 24-Passenger Bus
- 24-Passenger Bus with Trailer
- Potential addition of a school bus
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1, 2 or 4 License
- Experience driving a school bus or similar passenger vehicle preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Basic mechanical knowledge a plus
