Overview
We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Barista-Baker to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. This dual-role position combines the artistry of coffee craftsmanship with food preparation and assembly, perfect for someone passionate about both beverages and quality food service. The ideal candidate will thrive in our fast-paced, quality-focused environment while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining our high standards for both coffee and food preparation.
What You'll Be Doing Coffee & Beverage Service
- Craft exceptional espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, tea, and specialty drinks following our established recipes and quality standards
- Operate and maintain commercial espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
- Provide friendly customer service, take orders, and make personalized drink recommendations
- Handle cash transactions and point-of-sale operations accurately
Food Preparation & Assembly
- Bake pre-prepared and semi-prepared pastries, scones, cookies, and other baked items
- Assemble sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other café fare according to our specifications
- Serve ice cream, Smothies and Juice production
- Maintain ingredient prep levels and participate in daily inventory management
- Follow established procedures
General Café Operations
- Keep all café areas clean and equipment, organized, and food-safe at all times
- Maintain attractive display cases and merchandise products effectively
- Assist with patio service and outdoor seating area maintenance
- Support opening and closing procedures as scheduled
- Help with special orders, events, or catering requests when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 year of barista or coffee service experience required
- Previous experience in food assembly preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate
- Food Safe Level 1 Certification (required within 30 days of hire)
- Strong espresso machine operation and coffee knowledge
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Reliable and responsive to scheduling requests
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
- Passion for quality coffee, baked goods, and exceptional customer experiences
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
