Reporting to the Supervisor of Parking Enforcement, the Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing parking regulations, issuing tickets/citations for parking violations, providing traffic direction, inspecting parking machines/equipment/facilities, and supporting the day-to-day operations of Parking Services.
The Parking Enforcement Officers are also responsible for assisting customers, including providing information, wayfinding, and assistance in the use of parking equipment and technology. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days/evenings/weekends) is required.
The successful incumbent must be able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol parking zones via vehicle and/or by foot to enforce parking regulations
Issue warnings and/or citations for parking violations
Provide customer service.
Maintain parking payment machines
Skills & Abilities:
High level of customer service skills when interacting to interact with the public – exceptional interpersonal/interaction skills
Strong attention to details when note taking and report writing
Demonstrated competency in English – reading, writing and comprehension
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer experience, including Microsoft Office applications and various parking technologies
Physically able to walk up to 10+ kilometers per day or drive/sit for up to 7 hrs. per day
Ability to write reports and maintain proper documentation
Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12
Class 5 Driver’s licence with a clean drivers abstract
Demonstrated success providing outstanding customer service for 3 to 5 years
Proficiency in using computers and computer systems such as: Microsoft Office, License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, T2 Parking Systems, HONK Mobile payment app
Confident working independently, while supporting and contributing team goals and objectives
Previous related experience in a post-secondary institution would be an asset
Equivalencies may be considered
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $33,987.20 - $45,115.20 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package (Classification – Customer Service Rep I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
