Overview
The Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic is currently seeking a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our friendly, supportive, and client-focused team in Red Deer, Alberta.
As part of our clinic, you will play an important role in ensuring that vulnerable and underserved members of the community receive timely legal assistance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful work, a collaborative environment, and excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients and assist with client intake.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for staff lawyers.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and letters.
- Coordinate and book court dates, questionings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
- Maintain, organize, and manage client files (both electronic and physical).
- Perform general office administrative duties to support the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative assistant in a legal setting required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working with technology, legal software, and Microsoft Office.
- A professional, respectful, and client-centered approach.
Details:
- Full-time: 35-hour work week.
- Salary: $45,000 per year.
- 3 weeks of paid vacation per year.
