Not eligible if under a student or work visa
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Cannot be attending or returning to a current school program.
Candidates cannot have participated previously in government funded employment program
Candidates cannot have current employment
Must be in, or close to, Waterloo Region to participate in any hands on training required.
Are you between the ages of 15-30?
As a participant, you will learn important skills to help you succeed in today’s job market - all while earning a wage. Eligible candidates will receive 30 hours of comprehensive employment training per week, compensated at $17.20 per hour (increase to $17.60 October 1st) over 10 weeks starting September 15, 2025, developing skills such as Goal Setting, Developing a Dynamic Resume, Communication, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Self Awareness all while being paid for your time. You will then have an opportunity to test these skills in an Eco-friendly retail store where you will learn all aspects of running a store, customer service, receiving, marketing and branding, merchandising, cash handling, social media marketing and more! It’s a great opportunity! Eligible candidates will also earn a $150 completion bonus!
The program consists of some hours online so access to internet and a computer will be preferred, and the balance of the time in person at our retail store. All PPE will be provided for your safety.
