Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant/Optician to join our team. In this role, you will support the optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. You will be responsible for assisting with patient care, managing office tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping others.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them throughout their visit.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity and eye pressure measurements.
- Maintain patient records accurately using electronic health record systems, including Visualeyes.
- Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyewear.
- Provide education to patients regarding proper eye care and product usage.
- Manage inventory of optical products and supplies.
- Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and processing insurance claims.
Skills
- Strong background in customer service, preferably in an optical or medical setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care.
- Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Visualeyes, is a plus.
- Knowledge of dispensing procedures related to eyewear production is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
